Yellow Travertine Wall Sconce W-HDS-002: When Stone and Light Share a Wall
There's a certain kind of lighting fixture that doesn't announce itself — it just quietly makes the room better. This travertine wall sconce is that kind of piece.
We've been working with natural stone in our lighting for a while now, and travertine keeps proving itself. It's porous, warm, and slightly imperfect in the best way. No two slabs look the same, which means no two sconces are completely identical. For anyone who's tired of interiors that look copy-pasted from a showroom floor, that matters.
What makes this particular design work is the contrast. The stone sits center, grounded and matte. Surrounding it are two panels of rippled acrylic — the kind that catches light and scatters it rather than just passing it through. When the G9 bulbs fire up, light pushes out from both the top and bottom, throwing soft gradients up the wall and down toward the floor. It's a simple mechanism, but the result feels considered.
Dimensionally it's a comfortable H42 × W15cm — tall enough to make a statement, narrow enough to work in tighter corridors or beside a bed without overwhelming the space. We've seen it work well in hotel rooms, apartment lobbies, and living rooms that lean toward a more material-forward aesthetic.
It's not a fixture that needs a lot of styling around it. A plain wall, decent ambient light, and it does the rest.
